Jerry Jones: Nothing preventing UFC and Conor McGregor from coming to Cowboy's Stadium
Dallas Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones' AT&T Stadium needs 60,000 asses in seats to justify opening the doors. That's a step up from the 18-20,000 seats the UFC can typically fill for a big card. Cowboy's stadium would require a card with five top-tier fights which means ten fighters or more with no injuries. The league doesn't believe that it's worth it. But Jones' door is open: "Nothing is preventing it. ... They have a lot of nuances. A lot of things have to come together. It's huge economics involved all the way around. They are not quite as easy as saying, 'Let's get in here and we'll hold up the flag and let everybody know you're out here and we'll get a crowd.' It takes a lot of work. I do think [Conor McGregor] is the kind of guy with interest that might be really special here in North Texas." H/T MSN
Jedrzejczyk reveals why she wouldn’t take Shevchenko fight at UFC 230
UFC 230 on 11/3 needed a main event so the UFC offered former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk a fight vs. Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant flyweight belt. The Pole declined and Sijara Eubanks got the offer. Then DC vs. Lewis was secured for 230 and now Jedrzejczyk vs. Shevchenko is back on for 231 on 12/8. On Ariel Helwani's MMA Show, Jedrzejczyk why she said no: “I couldn’t do that because it was too soon and I know how tough is Valentina Shevchenko and the other point is there is not an easy way. It’s impossible to step into the Octagon without the proper camp. It’s all about the time. … I believe in myself, I will get this title but I need the time to prepare. ... They told me that they might (go with Eubanks), but I didn’t know it was going to happen. I couldn’t believe that, but it happened. Of course I was a little bit confused, I was sad and it was something new for me. But I understand the other side. They had to do this and it happened. It wasn’t fair 100 percent, but they had to do this. It’s a business.” H/T MMA News

Coach Wink: I hope Cowboy returns to the gym
Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone recently left Jackson-Wink MMA after co-owner Mike Winkeljohn agreed to train gym newcomer for a fight vs. long, longtime gym member Cerrone, who trained under Jackson. During a recent appearance in The Ariel Helwani MMA Show, Winkeljohn discussed it. “It didn’t change one stroke. The gym is as good as it has ever been, the atmosphere is fantastic and everybody is winning. It’s up, incredible guys in the cage working with each other. The only person not here is Donald at the moment, but I am hoping in my heart that down the road we can get Donald to come back. Donald is hard-headed, kind of like myself. He has been a big part of our team over the years and it’s a terrible thing that happened and I kind of wish it didn’t happen. But we got a fight coming up with him and Perry. Everybody just has a job to do and we will get through it.” H/T MMA Mania

NYSAC addresses health concerns around UFC 230 fighters DC, Derrick Lewis
Champ champ Daniel Cormier says his finger hurts to the point he initially didn't want to fight soon, while Derrick Lewis was suspended for 30 days after being hit with an apartment buidling's worth of kitchen sinks in his last fight. The pair fight on 11/3 at MSG in NY where the AC is strict, and has previously shut down high profile fights. DC is suspended up to 6 months or if cleared by an MD for the finger; that clearance will presumably be forthcoming. “Our medical team may require additional medical checks for any specific fighter when warranted, and they do,” wrote NYSAC spokesperson Lee Park. "[Lewis] challenged his medical suspension in Nevada, an action permitted in pretty much all jurisdictions. Nevada then reduced his suspension to three weeks instead of one month. In light of this, NYSAC has asked for all new medical documentation to prove his fitness to be licensed in New York State.” H/T MMAjunkie

UFC boss: We worked it out with Khabib Nurmagomedov

Bradley Scott accepts 2-year suspension for cocaine metabolites
In July it was announced that English UFC welterweight and middleweight Bradley Scott had failed anti-doping test, administered on May 27, 2018, the day of UFC Fight Night 130, in Liverpool, England. Today USADA announced that Bradley had accepted a two-year suspension, for testing positive for benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite: “USADA conducted a thorough investigation into Scott’s case and determined Scott had not provided verifiable evidence regarding the circumstances that led to his positive test." USADA once again has fixed a problem that MMA does not have. And given that Scott is 3-5 in the UFC, on July 3, 2020 when he's eligible to fight again, they may cut him. It's not a good look.
DC: Hand not 100% heading into Lewis fight
Champ champ Daniel Cormier appeared on The MMA Hour and discussed his title defense vs. Derrick Lewis at UFC 230: "I kinda set my sights on just waiting for Brock. Then the UFC called ... they said, ‘Can you fight in a few weeks?’ And I was like, ‘Well, honestly, I’m not ready to fight right now, but I could see where I stand.’ They said Derrick Lewis. I said, ‘Okay, let me go see if my hand will hold up when I punch something.’ It’s good enough to fight. It’s not 100 percent, I’m going to be honest. My fist is closing but not all the way. ... It feels like my finger’s just jammed really badly right now. You ever had like a jammed finger and you just can’t really pop it? It kinda like sticks up a little bit more than the other finger? That’s where my hand is right now, so my pointer finger doesn’t close completely. ... I’m just kinda hoping that if I’m sparring and I punch someone, that it pops and goes back to normal.” H/T MMA Fighting

'The Eagle' spoke recently with Russia's main state-owned television channel 1: “I slept very well on the day before the fight because the day before that I didn’t sleep at all. I had a serious weight cut. I made weight 7 hours ahead of time. I had seizures, I threw up even though I didn’t have anything inside of me. I felt really bad. I probably wouldn’t tell about this if I didn’t win the fight, because it would sound like an excuse. Everything turned out well, I won. But I just want to tell you that I felt pretty bad.” H/T Sherdog
